The things I put on my face version 1,236. Mostly not an exaggeration. . I’m in the midst of my bi-annual “OMG the seasons they are a changing and my skin is completely freaking out” phase. Reposting an old photo for the #rainbowchallenge from the two amazing skincare boys @dirtyboysgetclean and @dermatologram. Repost because almost everything I own is currently packed, and all of my time and attention is focused on the last of what I have to get done this week. I still wanted to join because being an ally is important, and I support all of you. . Also, I want to accurately express my deep, deep feelings about whoever the jerk is that switched the Discard and Save buttons. Fuck you whoever you are. . . . . . . . *many, many things in this photo are Pr gifted.
Just casually hanging out with my quartet of masks from @drjart artfully arranged on a mirrored shelf as one does. The Dr Jart Focuspot masks are specially designed patches meant to mimic the benefits of microneedling without the needles. Featuring self-dissolving Micro Tips that infuse the skin with beneficial ingredients, each patch focuses on a different need. • The Dark Circle patches are for brightening the under eye area and firming the skin over time. With 72% Hyaluronic Acid (HA), Vitamin A, and polypeptides, this does leave my skin firmer and plumper looking with only a single use. • Dark Spot patches are small, round, and are a great way to focus on small areas of PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) caused by acne, or to repair sun damage. With 65% HA and vitamin C these are meant to lighten dark spots and leave you with a more even tone. I’m testing these on a small spot and will update with any results I see. • Line and Wrinkle are shaped to place on laugh lines and feature 63% HA, vitamin E, and polypeptide. Regular use claims to tighten the skin and smooth the appearance of fine lines. After a single use I saw plumper and smoother skin, which is normal from using any sort of hydrating patch. • Blemish patches are also small and round, designed to focus on the inflammation and redness caused by acne. With 65% HA, vitamin B3, and polypeptide. I haven’t had the chance to try these out yet, but I’ve heard good things from others. My only complaint with these is they’re meant to be worn for two hours at a time, which is difficult to find on a daily basis. I’d love to see the long term results from the Line and Wrinkle patches as one of the areas I can see some lines is right around my mouth. . . . . . . *pr gifted by brand.
URUOI: Moisture, blessing, fulfillment. Also translates to dampness and humidity, but we’re focusing on the positives here. . I’ve been watching the Japanese brand @uruoiskincare since their US IG first launched several months ago. All of their products use their patented D.P.H.A. (Denka Pure Hyaluronic Acid) formula, originally developed as a medical-grade Hyaluronic Acid derived from lactose acid ferment to reduce joint inflammation. HA is naturally occurring in our bodies, we’re flush with it to lubricate connective tissue and retain moisture. In skincare this is used to hold moisture in our skin, keeping it healthy and hydrated. • U3 skin lotion* is a beautiful toner with some weight that sinks in and PLUMPS. The viscosity of this is lovely and really adds to the joy of using it, and it really is one of those products that is pleasant to use. Super hydrating, soothing, and it leaves my skin healthy and glowing. • U2 clean foam* is a milky gel that functions as a second cleanser. It lathers up into a rich foam. This works well to clean the skin completely, but is also rather stripping. After using it a few days to give it a fair go I tested the ph and it came in at 7.5. I find that a ph of 6 or lower works best for my skin, anything higher leaves my skin tight and irritated. Too high of a ph in a cleanser strips all the good oils out of your skin, causing the skin to overproduce oils. A cleanser with an ideal ph of 5.5 should gently cleanse and leave your skin more balanced. This will unfortunately be repurposed as either a makeup brush cleanser or shaving cream, because they foam is nice and fluffy. • U6 emollient cream* sits nicely between being a cream and a gel moisturizer. The texture is richer then a gel, but still lighter then a cream. I’m excited to have this as a daily moisturizer for the summer, it leaves a smooth texture and really softens the skin. . . . . . . . *pr gifted
HYGGE: a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being. I’m all about comfort so hygge is a mantra I can easily live by. . This is my third? fourth? bottle of the @hyggee_global Balance* all-in-one. I bought my first bottle of it years ago and immediately fell in love. Balance is designed for normal to dry skin with a 20:80 oil:moisture formula. Featuring birch sap water, lactobacillus, bifida, and a 5-oil layer this has a bright scent thanks to the addition of bergamot. Give the bottle a quick shake to mix that beautiful oil layer in and you’re left with a rich toner that feels amazing on the skin. This is one of the few products I’ve ever been able to use as a stand alone product. My skin is so dry that I normally need layers and layers to keep from drying out during the day. The Hyggee Balance keeps my skin bright, soft, and flake-free on all but the driest days. This is honestly one of my favorite summer products, especially when layered with the Hyggee Fresh (an 8:92 oil:moisture formula with a milky gel texture and is more ideal for oily/combo skin). These two are exactly what I need on a humid day, I can just pat them on and run out the door. This is one of those products I will always have in my stash, it’s too perfect to be without. .
